Purpose of BIM use:

In this project the ultimate aim of developing the BIM model was to coordinate and resolve the interferences between all MEP installations in the project before their construction.

In the first phase of the Project it was used to obtain a general idea of the installations and their trajectories in relation to the structure and architecture of the project.

This model was subsequently used for the coordination of the different disciplines (architecture, structure and installations) detection and resolution of the interferences between them to optimise construction.

Description of the success achieved:

Through the use of BIM a lot of time was saved in the construction phase, given that the interferences between installations had been resolved previously. The analysis of collisions had the result that the quality of the design increased such that in the works phase modifications were reduced to a minimum with respect to the work carried out in BIM.
